| Mission Statement |
Ogaden Youth Network is an Organization which serves individuals, families, and communities in Minnesota and Ogadenia region of Ethiopia. It promotes unity among youths, healthcare, equitable and accessible education, and sustainable economic, social and environmental developments.Objective: Short-term and Long-term A. Short-term Goals
- Establish and provide a platform to share ideas and information for the youths in the abroad.
- Provide youths opportunities to come together and share their ideas for the common goal of Human Development in the region
- Mobilize and motivate the sub-conscious youths to contribute towards the region’s human development.
- Provide educational materials and supplies
- Provide medical aid and supplies
- Provide clean drinking water
- Educate people on sanitation and its impact on the society
- Campaign for health care awareness such as HIV/Aids, Malaria, TB etc.

1. Equitable and Accessible Education:
- After-school programs, Twin cities
- Build Schools-elementary, post Secondary and high schools in the region

- Attract capable teachers to the education system in the region

2. Healthcare:
The health care challenges in the region: Availability, Accessibility, Efficiency and Quality. Even a minuscule amount of medicine aids could have eased the human sufferings in the region and could have a profound impact, no matter how small it may seem to us people in the western world.
Ogaden Youth Network intends to prioritize areas of importance and then draw an outline to carry out health care aids throughout the region starting with the most stricken areas. First of all, we will analyze and set out a facts finding mission of the health care conditions of the nine regions that Ogaden consists of and come up with a start point where our first health care activities should be carried out. This will be followed by a mission to fit the needs on the grounds to our available resources to capitalize on our meager resources. It's our plan to create task a team that will review whether the current healthcare goals and objectives for the designated priority areas are attainable or not and make any deemed adjustments in order to serve the purpose. After the review, we will make adjustments where needed. After this accomplished, meet with traditional leaders, faith-based organizations, existing medical communities, NGOs and business to obtain their views and to discuss ways to facilitate their active participation. Last but no least, will be to carry out actual activities on the grounds.

- Initiate campaign for health awareness: aids, TB, Malaria, Malnutrition, infectious diseases- preventions, treatments, care and support

- Provide medicine and medical Equipments for the hospitals
- Hire professionally trained doctors- Monitoring, research, and evaluation

There are four areas selected for Sustainable Development activities are:

- The goal is to promote the creation of an enabling environment for sustainable agricultural development, which will ensure a rapid transition from poor to high productivity agriculture.
- Advocacy Strategy
- Assisting in building at national, sub-regional and regional levels through the organization of seminars, workshops, training and advisory-services;
- Advocacy, awareness raising and policy advice through the organization of meetings, field visits and preparation of parliamentary documents, policy briefs and other papers; implementing and formulating policy and program, monitoring and evaluation;
- Networking and exchange of experiences with partners with other NGO that advocate sustainable development.
- Building Mechanical or electrified water pumping relieves women’s burdens and makes basic household sanitation and subsistence activities much healthier and less time-consuming.
- In remote areas, solar, micro-hydro, and wind-powered equipment can be used to pump water and also provide electricity. These technologies can be combined with diesel generators to form hybrid systems.
Effective water governance
- To supports the sustainable use of marine, coastal and freshwater resources and improved access to water supply and sanitation services. This requires establishing local, national and regional water control, Access to sustainable energy services
- Establishing a system that supports energy activities to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development objectives at the local, national and global levels. Our work will be focusing on strengthening national policy frameworks to support energy for poverty reduction;
- Promoting energy services to support growth and equity with specific focus on the situation of women; promoting clean energy technologies to tone down climate change.
